The Must-Have Travel Shoe that is Perfect for Home Too

Adventure Travel· Gear· Travel· Travel Style

28 Apr

Having a good pair of sneakers is important for your feet whether you are walking around the neighborhood or sprinting through the airport to catch a flight. The Allbirds brand has quickly become the travel shoe and sneaker I can’t live without in my every day life, as well as my travel life.

ALLBIRDS SNEAKER REVIEW

Price and Where to Buy: A variety of both men’s and women’s sneakers and shoes are available at Allbirds for prices ranging from $95 to $125.

HOW THE ALLBIRDS SNEAKERS RATE

Style and Comfort: 10/10. The comfortability of the Allbirds Tree Runners and Tree Dashers is what sold me on the shoes. Prior to receiving my shoes I wasn’t entirely sold on the style. They looked cool online, but I wasn’t sure how I would like the proprietary knit tree fiber fabric of the shoe. But once I slid my feet inside the cushiony Merino wool insole, I was forever an Allbirds customer. The comfort is outstanding! The style is indeed cool and I knew these sneakers would rarely be left in my closet.

Durability: 10/10. There are a variety of Allbirds styles for both men and women. I have personally tried the women’s Tree Dasher and Tree Runners and love them both. Both stand up to hours of walking and don’t change form or comfortability. They are machine washable, lightweight and the insole is moisture wicking, and odor reducing.

I would recommend the Allbirds Tree Runners as more of a casual walking shoe for traveling or walking around the neighborhood. The new Allbirds Tree Dashers are more of a running shoe or for longer walks as they offer even more support and stability with its dual-density SweetFoam midsole. The Tree Runners also have the SweetFoam midsole but it is thinner than the Tree Dashers.

Value: 9/10. Allbirds are an investment but most good, comfortable sneakers are an investment. By investing in your feet, you are investing in your entire body, physically and emotionally. If you’re feet hurt, it could prevent you from going that extra mile or visiting that one last museum on your trip. I see Allbirds as an investment in a happy vacation, or a comfortable day at home.

Sustainability: 10/10. In addition to the Allbirds brand being uber comfortable and stylish, the company is also committed to eliminating the products carbon footprint. They use natural, renewable materials wherever possible. Among many other things, the shoes are crafted from eucalyptus tree fiber fabric, sugarcane midsole, and the laces are 100 percent post-consumer recycled polyester. A former plastic bottle becomes a pair of shoelaces at Allbirds.

FINAL VERDICT

The Allbirds brand is indeed trendy and cool but the shoes stand up to the hype. The Allbirds Tree Runners and Tree Dashers are amazingly comfortable and for that reason alone I will be a continuous customer.

Bonus: I bought my first pair of Allbirds Sprinter Socks too. I do think $15 for one pair of socks is an absolutely ridiculous price. But I bought two pairs and I do love them! They work perfectly with the shoes and are moisture wicking. I would say once you are a loyal Allbirds customer, than invest in the socks as well.
